Off the Press

Through Off the Press, we hope to champion both the publishers and the books, showcasing a diverse body of thought relating to art, design, theory and practice – while also exhibiting the creative powers of New Zealand's specialist bookmakers.

With only a few specialist booksellers remaining in this country and little in the way of an online presence, there’s a real need for a guide like Off The Press to catalogue these works. We hope you find the printed guide as a useful reference for the latest published books as art objects, books as exhibition catalogues, monographs, photo-books, design books, journals and zines from Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The printed editions of Off The Press will be produced on our traditional offset press at Soar Print and copies and will be offered free to galleries, public and school libraries and arts education organisations throughout New Zealand.

The Off the Press online store is reserved for publications that have been co-published with Soar Printing Co Ltd. At Soar Print we’re not just about ink on paper, we offer electronic media solutions as well. This end to end service helps publishers to store, pack and dispatch and sell their publications.
